North Tonawanda Parks & Recreation

Who Are We?

The North Tonawanda Youth Center is a branch of the North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation & Parks Department, which is a municipal organization funded on a city and state level.

 

Located in The Hope Center at 383 Vandervoort Street, the Youth Center welcomes youth grades K-12 to participate in programming.

 

There is no fee to participate or attend; however all participants must be registered for their free

Youth Center Membership 

 

All staff members are first aid certified and every room is monitored at all times by these workers.  

 

The youth center is only for residents of North Tonawanda.

Hours of Operation

K-6 Grade Hours

Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 4:30-8:30 PM

Thursdays: 4:30-6:30 PM

Fridays:  4:30-6:30 PM

Saturdays:  12:00-4:00 PM

SUNDAY & MONDAY: CLOSED

 

7-12 Grade Hours

Tuesdays-Thursdays: 6:30-8:30 PM

Fridays:  6:30-9:00 PM

Saturdays:  4:00-9:00 PM

SUNDAY & MONDAY: CLOSED

Announcements...

As of November 16, 6th graders are only permitted to stay until 8:30 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Fridays, they will be able to stay until 6:30 PM, and on Saturdays, 4 PM.
Starting November 30, the gym will be unavailable for open-rec play on Thursdays from 4:30 PM until 8:30 PM and Saturdays from noon until 4 PM

Santa Claus sent us an official letter, 100% Elf certified, letting us know they will deliver his mailbox to the gazebo at the North Tonawanda Botanical Gardens.

 

The mailbox will be ready on Tuesday, December 5 by 7 AM.

All letters mailed to Santa will be answered by either Santa or Mrs. Claus. The child's name, age, and address must be included in the letter.

The last day to mail al better to ensure a return letter before Christmas is 12/20

Open Play

Each and everyday youth can participate in what we consider "open" programming, which refers to activities that are open to participate in at anytime on an any day for FREE!.  These include

  • billiards

  • air hockey

  • video games

  • ping pong

  • fooseball

  • crafts

  • board games

  • contests

  • open gym

  • computer lab 

  • lounge area with TV

Clubs, Classes & Programs

A variety of special interest programs and clubs are also offered throughout the year. These programs often require registration due to the limited amount of participants that the program can handle. These programs include:
