Does your child come to The REC on a regular basis?

 we will be offering an after school snack program, called  SNACK ATTACK is an after school snack program for our K-6 kids.

With guidance from our knowledgeable staff, kids will learn how to make a healthy, easy to prepare, after school snack. Anything from peeling and slicing their own apple for a yummy PB & Apple treat to preparing a personalized Chex™ mix.

We will educate kids about nutrition and how making good dietary choices can have a positive effect on their mind and body.

Menus will be posted to assist in avoiding conflicts with dietary restrictions and allergies. At times, substitutions or alternatives can be provided upon request. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Cost is $1.00 per after school Snack Attack. A Snack Pack punch card can be purchased below.

Snack Packs come in $5 or $10 denominations. Your child’s Snack Pack punch card will be waiting for them at The REC. Punch cards will remain with the instructor so there is no need to worry about them getting lost.

To ensure we have enough snacks to prepare, please register your child by noon the day of.





Grades 2 - 6


Through the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation STEM 2035 grant, The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is proud to partner with the North Tonawanda Recreation Center to present STEM Club. STEM Club is a weekly meeting for students to engage collectively in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities.

Participants will explore areas such as physics, coding, electricity, and simple machines with projects and topic geared specifically towards the corresponding age group. On the last day of class, participants will see these concepts and more put to use by taking a tour of North Tonawanda's historic landmark the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum.

Sessions will be held on the following dates:

Session I: October 10, 17, 24 & 31
Session II: December 5, 12 & 19th

Session III: February 6, 13, 20 & 27

Session IV: April 2, 9 16 & 23

Grades K - 6


Learn, practice and perfect a variety of dance techniques, from hip-hop, jazz, and more as instructor Emily Partell (from the Spirit of Dance) choreographs a mash-up of styles and songs into a dance routine to be performed during the halftime of youth basketball games.

Informational meeting will be at The REC on Friday, October 18 at 5pm. Program runs from October 18 to January 24.



Youth Soccer Clinic

Grades 1 & 2

$35 for North Tonawanda residents only

November 6 - December 11

The Youth Soccer Clinic is a great introduction & skill building experience for young children in the 1st & 2nd grades. This program is designed to help players improve individual skills in dribbling & ball control. Players will be taught using small group exercises that focus on improving basic skills & sportsmanship.

Session: 6 weeks, 6 classes.

Wednesday evenings 5:30pm-6:30pm - Youth Center
